Cumin and Lime Basa Filet

This dish was a complete accident.

It’s one of those things that came about when I was home alone and didn’t have to impress anyone and so I basically just threw a lot of things that I like on a basa filet and baked it.

And it was pure magic.

It’s simple and straight forward. Steam some rice and add some kind of vegetable and maybe a salad and you have a healthy and comprehensive meal that is perfect for any hectic week night. I topped mine off with a really simple tomato and avocado salad which was delicious, but just topping this fish off with fresh cilantro is amazing all on its own.

Cumin and Lime Basa Filets

Prep: 5 min Cook: 20-25 min Temp: 400 F serves: 1


  • 1 basa filet
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice of one lime
  • fresh cilantro

  1.  Preheat oven. Place basa filet in a shallow baking dish and drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle spices. Squeeze lime juice over top and bake at 400 for 20-25 min.
  2. Plate the basa filet, squeeze more lime juice and top with fresh cilantro. Enjoy!
